THE LAW OF ATTRACTION - HOW DOES IT REALLY WORK?

The frequency of the universe

The law of attraction is a term that has really become popular in 2006 with the release of the movie called 'The Secret'. Since then it has exploded and the world wanted to know more about this new found law because of it's proclaimed power to give you anything you've ever wanted. Since then, we've seen a ton of 'law of attraction' experts come to light, with many people claiming that they have found the answer.

Now, although many people claim to have had success with the LOA, the world predominantly remained the same, with the people with money making more money, and those without going deeper down the gutter. Why is this, is LOA real, is it just misunderstood, or is it just a hoax with which Rhonda Byrne made a lot of money off of her 'victims'?

I too watched the movie 'The Secret' back in 2006, and I was instantly obsessed. I started applying all of the visualization techniques but nothing happened, my life just didn't change at all. I wanted to manifest money, relationships, business, academic success, and pretty much everything you can think of, but nothing, so I started researching this phenomena obsessively, and have been doing so to this day. So, did I get the answer, is it a hoax?

I truly believe it is real, and it can be used in a way to truly find happiness. Note that I didn't say 'ANYTHING YOU WANT', but TRUE HAPPINESS.

The general notion out there is that everyone is born equal, and that you can truly get ANYTHING you want, if you just use the LOA right. My theory is somewhat different, which has worked for me the best out of all of the techniques that I've tried, so here goes...

NOTE: I am not saying that the LOA is fake, or that any person's teachings out there is fake, I'm merely giving you my theories & opinions about it, which is not a very complex theory, but rather a very simple understanding of it.

First of all, let's define the LOA first:

To me the law of attraction is the same thing as what some people call god, or the universe, or higher self, etc. it is all the same thing, as many religious scriptures claim that we are all one, and that god is within us, so to me there truly isn't really a difference. Why is this relevant to me? Because sometimes if life doesn't work out, we get caught between this idea that there is a god who makes the final decision, or who doesn't like us, which may be the reason why the law of attraction isn't working for us, but is this the case?

To me, god does not assume human form or human thinking, so there is no good and bad. People have misinterpreted many scriptures and believes that the world consists of good and bad and that we owe it to god to be good, but also that god can decide what happens with us and to us, sometimes good and sometimes bad, but if god is the same as the LOA, then surely it is a law that operates by certain parameters which cannot be manipulated right? What is the purpose of the law of attraction if there is a higher power that will override our manifestations?

The whole notion of good & bad when it comes to religion and the scriptures basically means that there is this universal law, and if you obey it then you're essentially good, and that good things will follow, and if you defy the law, then bad things will follow, much like gravity, gravity is actually keeping you alive every second, so it's a good law, unless you defy it by jumping off a building.

Now, let's define god or spirit, or whatever you want to call it, which I call the law of attraction:

To me it's a mathematical equation on which the universe functions, nothing more. For example, 1 plus 1 is always 2, it cannot be something else, or change based on emotions etc.

So what is this equation?

Let me explain this with an example.

For most people, if I offer you a $million today, no strings attached would you take it, probably YES, right. If I offer you more money that the richest man on earth, probably also YES, right? But what if I tell you that you can get all that money, but then you'll dies the next day, would you still want it?

What does this mean? It means that your life's worth is worth more than all the money in the world, and you were born with it, and you've been further enriched by experiences throughout your life. This means that god or the LOA is saying to you that, the day you were born, I gave you everything already, everything that you'll ever need is right here, but, the rules of the game is to give back, and the more you give to the world some of that which I gave you, the MORE I'll continue to give you. And simply, that's the mathematical equation which is the law of attraction.

How does this translate?

The more you ask from the universe, the less you get because you already got more than enough the day you were born, and if you start applying what you've received that day you were born to serve the world, then you start attracting more and more into your life, in fact you'll start receiving 10 times more than the energy you exert. I don't know if it's 10 times more, all I've experienced is that it's a LOT more.

First off, let's define what does it mean to give, what were you born with that you can give others?

Giving doesn't mean money, or material possessions. Some famous people like Tony Robbins have said that the secret to living, is giving, so he clearly gets it, but some people might misinterpret this and say that they don't have anything to give, which means that the universe or god first needs to give them something first before they can give. Giving means giving your energy in line with what you've been given, through birth, and also through life experiences. If you're a comedian, then make people laugh, if you're good with numbers, serve businesses that requires your skills, or anything else that fits your potential.

Again this sounds to easy, so where are we going wrong?

Here's the problem, people have conditions attached to this art of 'giving'. They'll say, I'll give once I get, or I'll give, but I want something in return, and how long will it take for me to get what I want after I've given, or I'll give something that I'm not really good at, thinking that mere hard work is enough. We'll discuss this last part in more detail a bit later.

So what's the catch here?

People hold on to one thing, which it the need for acceptance and fear of death. Now this may seem complicated but it's actually quite a simple statement:

The need for acceptance means that you are not truly who you are, you're trying to be someone, have some things or act in a certain way that you believe will be accepted by society and that which will give you safety and security. This means that you'll become a doctor because your parents will be disappointed if you don't, or you want a specific partner who aligns with the expectation of a good partner from the outside world. You may not be the right partner to fit the lifestyle of an actor, yet you're chasing actors because of what people will think if you could land a successful actor as a husband or wife, constantly in & out of relationships, not happy, but also not able to offer that person what they truly need, because it might not be who you are, or it might not be what you truly want, you might want a stable partner with a 9 to 5 job, but you're blinded by the false sense of acceptance that you think will come with this sacrifice.

Or, when it comes to business, you may start a business because you want to make more money, yet you're not truly passionate about business, due to it being hard for you because of your personality, so the business doesn't really make money because that's not what you should be doing. This is called conditional giving, providing a service BECAUSE YOU WANT THE MONEY.

You keep finding yourself in positions & situations where you're not truly giving value to others, but a false sense of giving, which is the reason why you're not truly happy and fulfilled. Again you might feel that you're working hard and offering a lot of value, but it's not true value, and the more 'false' the value is, the harder it will feel for you, shich will make you think that you're working so hard and deseve something in return.

For the above reason, people don't want to let go of that false sense of security and acceptance, but they want to use 'visualisation' to attract nonetheless, not willing to let go of the need to be accepted. This is guaranteed to move you further away from what you're trying to attract.

So what's the answer?

Letting go...

Realizing who you truly are, by following what you truly enjoy. If something or someone is causing you anxiety, it's not meant for you. If you feel validated by the car you drive, yet are anxious every month because you have to repay the car and it's too expensive, then it's a false sense of happiness and you need to let it go by letting go of the validation that your seeking from having it. This thing or person might just be holding you back from truly doing what makes you happy. That's why some times loss feels so terrible, until you can see that it actually released you from the never ending chase for validation that you never got anyway.

If you've heard some people talk about the law of vibration, then this is it, once you let go of what's not meant for you, that's when you move into alignment and onto the right frequency to now start getting what you NEED, not what you WANT.

So, the short answer is, start letting go, truly do or be what was meant for you by following what you enjoy and what makes you happy, then start advertising it to the world by sharing it with others, or sharing that authentic version of yourself with others, with no expectation of something in return, and you'll see that anxiety will disappear, the expectation will disappear, and the need to rush things will disappear. At this point you can truly know that you've moved onto the right frequency, you are now allowing this mathematical equation or god to start showering you with the good that you deserve which is followed by true happiness.

Always remember, if you are going through bad times, like a breakup, or financial difficulty, it is the universe or god trying to tell you that you're not listening, and that you are in the wrong place, so the sooner you stop trying to feed your ego and the false sense of acceptance, the sooner you'll experience happiness. Hardship will continue to happen until you get out and let go. It is our human nature, not to let go voluntarily, we usually wait for trauma to knock us out of our own minds before we let go. You don't have to wait for trauma, you can let go today.
